IOWA DIVISION OF CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION The Major Crime Unit consists of 28 Special Agents statewide and three polygraph examiners. Last year, the agents of this unit were requested by local law enforcement to conduct 83 death investigations, 28 assault investigations, and 21 sexual offense investigations, in a year that saw approximately 350 major felony cases investigated by the unit.
