DPS AND LEIN HOST INTELLIGENEC COMMAND COURSE

Des Moines, IOWA --- Commanders and supervisors of law enforcement intelligence units from across Iowa and neighboring states are gathering in Des Moines this week for a two-day training class.  The course, funded through the Bureau of Justice Assistance, is designed to strengthen each person’s skills in effectively managing staff and the vital intelligence data gathered and used to help safeguard our communities.  Training topics include: intelligence-led policing, suspicious activity reporting and information management, and legal issues and the protection of privacy, civil liberties, and civil rights.

  -Roger Bragdon, Spokane, WA Chief of Police (ret.)
  -Other intelligence and fusion center leaders from across the U.S.

This course if being co-hosted by the Iowa Department of Public Safety, Iowa Law Enforcement Intelligence Network, United State Attorney’s Office-Southern District of Iowa, Iowa Governor’s Office of Drug Control Policy and the Mid-States Organized Crime Information Center.
