DPS ARRESTS ANKENY MAN ON FIVE COUNTS OF THEFT

Ankeny, IOWA --- On Friday, October 9, 2009, Christopher Wade Moritz, age 36, of Ankeny was arrested on an outstanding warrant for five counts of theft in the 1st degree - exercising control of stolen property. This investigation and subsequent arrest involves recovered property valued between $29,245 and $424, 245.00 dollars.

The investigation was initiated by the Ankeny Police Department with assistance from the Iowa State Patrol Vehicle Theft Unit and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation. The investigation is on-going.

IT SHOULD BE NOTED A CRIMINAL CHARGE IS MERELY AN ACCUSATION AND THE SUSPECT IS PRESUMED INNOCENT UNTIL AND UNLESS PROVEN GUILTY.
