DCI UNVEILS UPDATED, RE-DESIGNED SEX OFFENDER REGISTRY AND WEB SITE

Des Moines, IOWA --- The Iowa Department of Public Safety, Division of Criminal Investigation is launching its newly updated Sex Offender Registry and Web Site. The re-design will enable Iowans to more easily monitor their neighborhood and surroundings. Site features include easier navigation, more user friendly search and mapping functions, newly entered tier levels indicating the level of offense an offender has committed, and information on which registered offenders are subject to exclusionary zones, residency restrictions and employment restrictions.

Members of the media and public are invited to the DPS Building on Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at 2 p.m., to learn more about the new features of the web site, as well as view a demonstration on how Iowans can access this valuable resource.
