UPDATE ON DCI CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION INTO OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING IN LEE COUNTY

Keokuk, IOWA --- On Friday, March 19, 2010 the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) presented its findings to Lee County Attorney Mike Short. Short determined that Detective Chris Chiprez and Investigator Kevin Glendening were returning fire to a deadly threat posed by Earl William Freeman, 51, of Burlington. The officers involved are cleared of any criminal wrong doing in the shooting of Freeman on March 17, 2010. 

Charges are pending against Freeman.
