DCI, AG’s Findings Released in Nevada Officer Involved Shooting |
Nevada, IOWA --- The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) has completed its investigation into the officer involved shooting in Nevada, Iowa on April 10, 2011 involving Nevada Police Officer David Johnson and Nevada resident Kevin Johnson. Upon completion of the DCI investigation, the Iowa Attorney General’s Office, who reviewed the case at the request of the Story County Attorney, examined the circumstances of the April 10th incident, including the actions of both Kevin Johnson and Officer David Johnson. The Attorney General’s Office determined Officer Johnson was justified under the laws of the State of Iowa in using deadly force. In its full report, the Attorney General’s Office stated:
