Arson Investigator of the Year to be Honored in West Des Moines

West Des Moines, IOWA --- Join firefighters from across the state as they recognize a leader in the fight to find arsonists and prevent future fires.  The Governor’s Award for Arson Investigator of the Year will be presented tomorrow at the International Association of Arson Investigators annual conference and banquet.

The Governor's Award for Arson Investigator of the Year is presented yearly to the federal, state, or local fire investigator who displays characteristics worthy of recognition by peers.  Award nominations are accepted by a committee, which then reviews each nominee and selects the annual award recipient.  The recipient is unaware of his/her selection as Arson Investigator of the Year until the awards presentation. 

Members of the media are invited to attend the award presentation.
