DCI, Huxley PD Arrest Robbery Suspect |
|
Cambridge, IOWA --- Today, at approximately 12:30 PM, law enforcement with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Huxley Police Department arrested 39 year old Denny Allen Kalsem. Kalsem is charged with First Degree Robbery. He is currently being held in the Story County Jail on $50,000 cash or surety. On Friday, October 7, 2011 at 6:45 PM a white male in his thirties or forties entered the Country Store at 301 Water Street in Cambridge, Iowa. The suspect then proceeded to assault the store clerk, 19 year old Karissa Zenkner. The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of cash. Shortly after the suspect fled, a Huxley Police Officer who was on routine patrol came upon the scene. The officer requested assistance for the clerk and reported the robbery. Additionally, while on patrol the officer had previously observed the suspect's vehicle and license plate number. This careful observation led investigators to Mr. Kalsem. The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation provided assistance on this investigation. It should be noted a criminal charge is merely an accusation and all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. ### |
