Delaware County Officials Attempting to Locate Missing Child, Grandmother

Delaware County , IOWA --- Delaware County officials are trying to locate a 6-year-old boy and his grandmother who have not been seen since early Saturday.

Deputy Casey Snyder said Gregory Ray Hansel, 6, was picked up by his grandmother, Nancy Sullivan, 56, at his home in Colesburg at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Hansel’s mother said she saw the two as they drove away, but neither has been heard from since 5 p.m. Saturday.

Sullivan was reportedly driving a gray 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS with Iowa plate 330 MCL. This vehicle was recovered by the Dyserville Police Department at approximately 3:00 p.m. today. She is officially listed as a missing person, Snyder said.

Hansel is described as being of mixed race, with a dark complexion, dark hair and brown eyes, and weighing approximately 56 pounds.

The case remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office at 563-927-3135.
