Des Moines, IOWA --- Recent events and related news coverage have brought public attention to the issue of missing children/persons in Iowa and the United States. These frightening situations were thought about and discussed by Iowa’s youth this winter when they participated in the National Missing Children’s Day Poster Contest. Each year 5th graders from across the country participate in the National Missing Children’s Day Poster Contest, showing their compassion for our country’s lost and missing youth, through art. Tomorrow the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation will honor fifth graders in Iowa who excelled in visually depicting the harsh realities of child abduction, as well as their eternal hope for a safe return of missing kids everywhere. Please join us as we honor the artists’ hard work and compassion for Iowa’s missing children.
