DPS Offers Drug Drop-Off Event

Des Moines, IOWA – On Friday, April 25, 2014, The Iowa Department of Public Safety’s Division of Narcotics Enforcement will be collecting unused and unwanted prescription drugs.  This local effort is part of a nation-wide event to collect and safely dispose of unwanted drugs.  Officials hope this “take-back” event serves as a precautionary effort to safeguard Iowans from potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs.  Bring in any prescriptions you no longer want or use, no questions asked.

When: Friday April 25, 2014
            4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Where: Oran Pape State Office Building, Capitol Complex

             Des Moines, Iowa 50319

Once collected, DNE officials will safely dispose of the unused and unwanted prescription drugs.  Please remember that flushing unwanted medication down the toilet can pose potential safety and health hazards.
