Shellsburg Robbery Suspect Photos

Shellsburg, IOWA -- On March 11, 2015, at approximately 2:08 PM, Benton County Communication Center received a 911 call from employees of the Wells Fargo bank in Shellsburg, Iowa. The tellers reported a white male entered into their bank, brandished a black handgun and demanded money. No one in the bank was injured.  The suspect was last seen walking in an easterly direction on Jones Street.   The suspect is described as:

  • White Male
  • Approximately 5’4”
  • Approximately age:  late 20’s early 30’s
  • Wearing
    • black calf-length trench coat
    • black jeans
    • blue baseball style cap, with white lettering on the front
    • black-framed glasses
    • fake purple beard with white elastic straps

Anyone with knowledge of the identity of the aforementioned individual is asked to contact the Benton County Sheriff’s Office at 319-472-2337.

The investigation is being conducted by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, Shellsburg Police Department, Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), The Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Iowa State Patrol, and the Department of Transportation-Motor Vehicle Enforcement.
