Tommy Tipton Charged with Ongoing Criminal Conduct

DES MOINES, Iowa – Today, April 6, 2016, Tommy Tipton, the brother of Eddie Tipton, turned himself in to the Polk County Jail after being charged with Ongoing Criminal Conduct, a Class B Felony.  Mr. Tipton was released from the Polk County Jail around 8:00AM this morning on a $25,000 bond.

The attached complaint and affidavit charging Tommy Tipton with Ongoing Criminal Conduct alleges his connection to the criminal network alleged to have won six (6) fixed lottery jackpots in five (5) states: Colorado, Oklahoma, Iowa, Kansas and Wisconsin.  The complaint also identifies information alleging the method by which the random number generator was manipulated to generate predictable numbers for drawings.

“The Wisconsin Attorney General and the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation are due credit for these welcome developments in electronic evidence,” said Iowa Assistant Attorney General Rob Sand.

This ongoing investigation continues to be a cooperative effort of the Iowa Department of Public Safety’s (DPS) Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), Iowa Attorney General’s Office, Iowa Lottery and lottery and law enforcement officials in the aforementioned states.
