Iowa Governor's Traffic Safety Bureau
2017 Telly Award Recipient

-- The Iowa Governor's Traffic Safety Bureau (GTSB) has been honored as the recipient of a 2017 Telly Award. The "Don't Wake Up to a Nightmare" TV public service announcement is a Silver winner in the 38th Annual Telly Awards. The spot was created in 2016 by The Integer Group, and supports efforts to generate awareness around the dangers of drowsy driving. This topic has recently become a priority for the Iowa GTSB and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), as it is estimated that drowsy driving causes over 100,000 crashes annually. You can watch the spot at

The Telly Awards was founded in 1979 and honors outstanding content in TV & Cable, Digital & Streaming, and Non-Broadcast. Each year, the Telly Awards receive over 13,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries, and it is a great honor to be selected as a either Silver or Bronze winner. A panel of over 500 accomplished industry professionals judged the competition, recognizing entries that showed distinction in creative work and against a high standard of merit. Less than 10% of entries are chosen as winners of the Silver Telly, their highest honor. Approximately 25% of entries are chosen as winners of the Bronze Telly.
