Update on Body Found
in Rural Appanoose County

-- Law Enforcement agencies have be working since November 25, 2017, on the homicide of Curtis Ross.  Law Enforcement personnel have conducted several interviews and have searched several areas looking for evidence of the homicide.  Items of evidentiary value have been located during these searches that have now been transported to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation Criminalistics Laboratory located in Ankeny, Iowa to be forensically examined. The results of those examinations are pending.

At this time, as a result of the investigation that has occurred over the past several days, law enforcement feels that the immediate threat to the public has subsided.  As the first shotgun deer season approaches this weekend, Law Enforcement is still asking the public for assistance.  If any hunters find anything that is out of place they are asked to not touch the items and to contact law enforcement to come and look at the items. Law Enforcement would also like to remind the public to always be alert of their surroundings and to use civility, respect and sportsmanship with fellow hunters and landowners.

There will be no further information  or comments released at this time regarding this investigation.
