2016 Farm Progress Show Traffic Information

BOONE, Iowa -- The Iowa State Patrol is preparing for the 2016 Farm Progress Show and asking Iowans to do the same! The show runs from Tuesday, August 30th through Thursday, September 1, 2016 and will be held at the permanent site located along Iowa 17, just north of U.S. 30 in Boone County. Organizers anticipate 20,000 vehicles will travel to Boone County each day, with an attendance nearing 200,000 during the three-day event.

SPENCER, Iowa – On May 16, 2016, an investigation was opened into allegations of sexual misconduct by Kevin Grimes (age 51) who was the Pastor of the Day Springs Church and the CEO of the Spencer Dream Center in Spencer, Iowa.  On May 18, 2016, Mr. Grimes resigned from both the Day Springs Church and the Spencer Dream Center.

Arrest Made in February Murder

BURLINGTON, Iowa -- On Monday, February 16, 2015, at approximately 2:41 p.m., Deonte Raynell Carter, 24, suffered three gunshot shot wounds – two in the upper torso and one in the right leg – during the course of an altercation at the intersection of Elm Street and South 7th Street in Burlington, Iowa, in Des Moines County.  Shortly thereafter, CARTER was pronounced dead by medical personnel at the Great River Medical Center (GRMC) in West Burlington, Iowa.

BOONE, Iowa -- The subject in the shooting has been identified as Michael Disbrowe, 28, of Boone, Iowa.  The autopsy on Disbrowe was completed yesterday by the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner in Ankeny, Iowa.  The final autopsy results will be completed in 4 to 6 weeks.

Be Safe, Be Buckled

Name Released in Cerro Gordo County Inmate Death

Mason City, IOWA -- The Cerro Gordo County jail inmate who was found unresponsive in the male dorm on January 2, 2016, has been identified as Edward Michael Hochstatter, 54, of Bloomington, Minnesota.  Hochstatter had been arrested on the evening of December 31, 2015, by Clear Lake Police for operating while intoxicated.  Hochstatter was one of five occupants in the male dorm, which is a large, well-lit, video monitored and recorded room with bunk beds, a table and a television.

Nashua, IOWA -- Update: The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation has identified the deceased in this case as 56 year old Karl Phillip White of 110 St. Lawrence Street in Nashua, Iowa.  An autopsy has been completed by the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny, Iowa and the cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound.  The preliminary investigation has indicated a possible accidental discharge of a weapon, by another person, however the case remains under investigation.   No criminal charges have been filed at this time.

Cerro Gordo County, IOWA -- On January 2, 2016, at approximately 3:30 PM,  Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office correctional officers discovered an unresponsive male in a male dormitory.  Lifesaving efforts were immediately started by jail staff.  The Mason City Ambulance and Fire Department was also called to provide medical assistance.  The man was unable to be revived.
