Please check with your local jurisdiction regarding portable fire extinguishers and any permit requirements.
The state of Iowa requires fire extinguishing system licensing for all fire extinguishing systems as defined in Iowa Code 100C and 100D. The company installing such systems and their employees must be licensed as fire extinguishing system contractor and installers. Licenses are also required for maintenance and inspection or testing of these systems.
Iowa does not license for the inspection or servicing of portable fire extinguishers. Please contact the local jursidiction for information.
