The Fire Service Training Bureau, is proud to offer National Certification for the Iowa Fire Service through accreditation with the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC). This accreditation assures firefighters that the testing is unbiased, current, and conforms to recognized national standards.
Additionally, the Fire Service Training Bureau is currently working towards receiving accreditation through the National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (ProBoard). We anticipate receiving this additional ProBoard accreditation during the first half of the 2017 calendar year.
All levels of certification begin with the candidate submitting a Certification Registration form and fee. Please submit your Certification Registration Form at least 10 days before the test date.
The Fire Service Training Bureau will be providing Review Classes and Retesting opportunities through the end of June 2017. The refresher courses, materials and retesting will be made available at NO COST to the fire service during this time period.
Anyone wishing to attend a refresher course and retest a certification level, must complete a Certification Retest Registration Form.
If you choose not to attend a refresher course you can take a certification retest at any of the test site locations throughout the state.
For individuals wanting to study or refresh on advanced courses, information will be provided to you through Resource One, upon request. Requests for self-study material for the advanced level courses should be submitted by email to Russ Grossman at email@example.com.
